The Trading Manager will report to the Merchandise Manager and take ownership of a retail related category with regards to hard-line and non-food products for our client’s retail operations nationwide. This will involve managing negotiations with a wide variety of suppliers, running and implementing promotions as well as taking responsibility for budgets within a popular and expansive category. The Senior Buyer will be responsible for managing subordinate Merchandisers and Buyers and be involved in all purchasing and marketing related responsibilities within the mentioned category. The successful candidate will also be required to travel on occasion to visit stores in Thailand to determine the success of promotions and determine the profitability of product selections for each store location with the intent of providing our client’s with the best selection of products for their individual area.

The successful candidate will have very good English skills and be qualified to at least degree level in marketing/purchasing or a relevant subject with at least 4+ years purchasing experience preferably within a multinational retailer or Fast Moving Consumer Goods manufacturer. The successful candidate will have good English communication skills and enjoy working in a fast paced highly competitive retail environment which requires highly dynamic professionals with strong negotiation skills and a keen insight to consumer buying behaviors.
