As the company continues to grow, our client is committed to innovation in design, responsible sourcing, and building a passionate team that shares a dedication to creativity and quality though the hiring of a newly opened role of 5-Axis CNC Programmer & Operator. 

 

The 5-Axis CNC Programmer & Operator will be responsible for programming, setting up, and operating 5-axis CNC machine centers to manufacture highly detailed jewelry parts with high precision. The role involves converting 3D designs into machining programs, selecting the right tools and cutting conditions, monitoring production quality, inspecting finished parts, maintaining machines, and working closely with design and production team to ensure products are manufactured accurately and efficiently. This will involve the following key responsibilities:

 

  • Program, set up, and operate 5-axis CNC machining centers for precision jewelry manufacturing.
  • Develop, verify, and optimize CNC toolpaths using JDPaint Pro and other CAD/CAM software.
  • Interpret technical drawings, engineering specifications, and 3D CAD models.
  • Select suitable cutting tools, fixtures, and machining parameters for delicate and high-value materials.
  • Monitor machining operations and adjust machine settings to achieve optimal precision and efficiency.
  • Inspect finished components using precision measuring equipment to ensure micron-level dimensional accuracy.
  • Troubleshoot machining problems, modify G-code when necessary, and recommend process improvements.
  • Ensure proper collection and recovery of precious metal chips and dust to minimize material loss.
  • Perform routine maintenance, calibration, and upkeep of CNC equipment.
  • Work closely with Design, Engineering, and Production teams to support new product development and manufacturing optimization.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized machining environment.

 

Qualifications:

  • Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Technology, Precision Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • 2–5 years of experience programming and operating CNC machining centers.
  • Experience with 5-axis or other high-precision multi-axis CNC machines.
  • Hands-on experience with JDPaint or JDPaint Pro.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and 3D CAD models.
  • Strong understanding of CNC machining principles and the ability to troubleshoot or modify G-code.
  • Strong attention to detail, analytical thinking, and commitment to producing high-quality work.
  • Strong English verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience in jewelry manufacturing or other precision industries such as mold making, dental CAD/CAM, watchmaking, or precision machining.
  • Familiarity with CAD software such as Rhino, MatrixGold, or SolidWorks.
  • Experience with CAM software including RhinoCAM, Mastercam, HyperMill, Fusion 360, or PowerMill.
  • Experience machining precious metals and other precision materials such as titanium, stainless steel, brass, aluminum, wax, or resin.
